True to the pop-punk genre, State Champs was born in basements and garages around Albany, New York, in 2010. Led by vocalist Derek DiScanio and guitarist Tyler Szalkowski, the group released their first EP “Overslept” in 2012, and just a year later they would be releasing their debut album “The Finer Things”. Bassist Ryan Scott Graham and drummer Evan Ambrosio would eventually join the team for the next full-length album “Around the World and Back” (2015). This record gave them notoriety in the years following, reaching the top 30 in the Billboard’s Top 200. Their next single “Dead and Gone” was co-written by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, which set the tone for their next release with Pure Noise Records, “Living Proof” in 2018.
