Steep Canyon Rangers Bio
Steep Canyon Rangers are a country/bluegrass music group from Asheville and Brevard, North Carolina, United States.This band was formed in 2000 and became widely popular since the collaboration with famous comedian and actor Steve Martin in 2009.
Steep Canyon Rangers released their debut album in 2001 called Old Dreams And New Dreams. Since then, the global audience and bluegrass devotees started considering them as a new, high-quality, upcoming band on the scene. In 2012, and five albums after, Steep Canyon Rangers recorded and released the album, Rare Bird Alert, alongside Steve Martin, who is participating as a banjoist and songwriter. After releasing this album, the band became globally recognized and closer to a broader audience. Next year, They are releasing a new album, Nobody Knows You, that won them the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album of 2013. Besides nine solo albums and two alongside Steve Martin, Steep Canyon Rangers also recorded and performed with an artist, Edie Brickell.
