Stephen John Emery, popularly known as Stephen Moyer, is an actor, producer, and director born in Brentwood, Essex, England, on October 11, 1969. He trained at LAMDA and began his professional acting career on stage. His first TV role was as Philip Masefield in the 1993 TV adaptation of the play Conjugal Rites. In 1999, he starred in Highlander: The Raven as Jeremy Dexter, Life Support as Dr. Tom Scott, and Cold Feet as Nick.
Stephen is best known for portraying Bill Compton in the Golden Globe-nominated show, True Blood (2008). The role earned him nominations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Teen Choice Awards. He won Satellite, Screamfest, Scream, and Saturn Awards for it.
Stephen produced and directed The Parting Glass. It was nominated at the 2018 Edinburgh International Film Festival and the 2019 Gasparilla International Film Festival. His acting credits include Code of Silence, After We Fell, The Gifted, The Bastard Executioner, and The Wonderful World of Disney. He has appeared on Sci-Fi Talk, Celebrity Page, Made in Hollywood, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
