Stereophonics represent a long-standing career in British rock since stemming from Cwmaman, Wales in 1992. Vocalist and guitarist Kelly Jones, bassist and lyricist Richard Jones, and former drummer Stuart Cable signed with the label V2 and made their first waves with singles like the would-be reissued “Local Boy in the Photograph”, which was included on their debut album “Word Gets Around” (1996), which put them on the U.K.’s Top Ten and also awarded them a Brit Award for Best New Group. After releasing “Performance and Cocktails” in 1999, they released “Just Enough Education to Perform” in 2001, and with fresh performances in festivals like Glastonbury. Their next full-length release “ You Gotta Go There to Come Back” (2003) also saw the departure of Stuart Cable, who would be later replaced by The Black Crowe’s Javier Weyler, followed by Jamie Morrison. After two gold records, they achieved a Platinum record in sales for 2013’s “Graffiti on the Train”. Their 2017 album “Scream Above the Sounds” marked their 20th anniversary.
