Steve Gunn is an American singer and a prolific songwriter born in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, and based in New York, where he studied and explored a variety of different musical styles. He has collaborated with Jack Rose, Meg Baird, Kurt Vile, and Michael Chapman. Stemming from the band GHQ, he released his debut self titled album 2007. This was followed by “Sundowner” and “Boero’s Palace”, before forming a duo with drummer John Truscinski in 2010. He also produced split records with Shawn McMillen, Angel Olsen, and Sun City Girls. He has worked with a variety of record labels such as Thrill Jockey, Three Lobbed Recordings, Matador, Important Records, and Paradise of Sounds, releasing a total of 8 records between 2009 and 2019.
