Steve James is an American DJ, songwriter, and record producer born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on April 11, 1998. He started learning how to play the piano at four years old. James became interested in electronic music after attending an Avicii concert. At 15 years old, he started making music on Ableton and gained moderate success after the release of his remix of “Faded” by ZHU. In 2015 he went to Los Angeles, California to collaborate with Jason Boyd (Poo Bear). The two ended up producing the title track for Justin Bieber’s album Purpose. James ended up moving to Los Angeles to further his music career. In 2015 he released his debut single titled “Renaissance” with Ultra Music and Seeking Blue. He has since released the singles “In My Head”, “Candles” (with Morgan Page), and “Warrior.” James produced and wrote the songs “Purpose” by Justin Bieber, “In the Name of Love” by Martin Garrix, “Middle of the Night” by The Vamps, and “Morphine” by Lights. He also produced the songs “Power” by Little Mix and “Suitcase” by Matthew Koma.
