Stevie Mackey Bio
Born on 10th November 1966 in Sheffield, England, Stevie Mackey is a musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist. In 1988, he enrolled at the Royal College of Art in London to pursue his interest in filmmaking. In 1989, he joined the band, ‘Pulp,’ with whom he played on the album, ‘Separations,’ which was released by Fire Records. He continued to write, perform and tour with the band which achieved success in the late 1990s with albums like ‘Intro-The Gift Recordings,’ ‘His ‘n’ Hers,’ ‘Different Class,’ ‘This is Hardcore,’ and ‘We Love Life.’ He took an 8-year hiatus from the band and collaborated with Ross Orton for songwriting and production. Together they produced and remixed tracks for Cornershop, Kelis, The Horrors and The Kills. He returned to Pulp in 2010 and performed on their world tour in 2011 and 2012. In 2017, the band received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection.
