Born in 1977, in Taft, Texas, United States, Stoney LaRue is an American country music and red dirt artist. LaRue grew up listening to country rock and drew inspiration from Woody Guthrie, Bob Childers, Mike Hosty and other red dirt artists. He kicked off his career by forming the band the Organic Boogie Band and started performing around the state. 2002 saw the release of his debut album Downtown followed up by his first studio disc The Red Dirt Album in 2005. His other famous work includes Live at Billy Bob's Texas (2007), Velvet (2011), Aviator (2014), and Onward (2019).
