Straight No Chaser is an American a cappella group formed in 1996 in Indiana at Indiana University. Their live debut was at a 36-hour dance marathon. In 1998 the group recorded a video of them performing “The 12 Days of Christmas.” In 2007 the video was uploaded to YouTube and received over 22 million views. After the video had gone viral, the group was signed with Atlantic Records in 2008 for a five-album record deal. They released their debut studio album that same year titled Holiday Spirits. The album reached number 36 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. They have since released the albums, Christmas Cheers, With a Twist, Under the Influence, The New Old Fashion, I’ll Have Another… Christmas Album, and One Shot. All of their studio albums, except for one, charted on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. In 2009 they released their debut EP titled Six Pack. They have also released the EPs Six Pack: Volume 2, Under the Influence: Holiday Edition, and Six Pack: Volume 3. In 2009 they won a CARA award for Best Holiday Album for their album Holiday Spirits.
