Suede is an English rock band formed in London, England in 1989. The current members of the band are Brett Anderson on lead vocals, Richard Oakes on guitar, Mat Osman on bass guitar, Neil Coding on keyboards and rhythm guitar, and Simon Gilbert on drums. The band started in 1989 after the founding members met while attending University College London. In 1993 they released their debut studio album self-titled Suede with the label Nude. The album reached number one on the UK albums chart and charted in several other countries. They have since released the albums Dog Man Star, Coming Up, Head Music, A New Morning, Bloodsports, Night Thoughts, and The Blue Hour. The band released eight studio albums, eight compilation albums, five live albums, and six video albums. Suede is credited with helping the Britpop scene take off. They have won a Q Award, an NME Award and others.
