Sunn O))) Bio
Sunn-O))) (pronounced “Sun”) is an American experimental rock and doom duo formed in Seattle in 1998. It consists of Stephen O'Malley (Khanate, Burning Witch) and Greg Anderson (Goatsnake, Thorr’s Hammer). Their first two albums, “The Grimmrobe Demos” and “00 Void” went out in 2000 and received little attention. The duo’s next three albums (“Flight of the Behemoth”, “White 1” and “White 2”) paved the way for their international breakthrough album “Black One” in 2004, which featured the vocal talent of Attila Csihar. Sunn-O)))’s collaborative albums include 2006’s “Altar” with the Japanese band Boris, 2011’s “The Iron Soul of Nothing” with Nurse with Wound, and 2014’s Terrestrial with Norwegian band Ulver. After some a number of conceptual albums, in 2019 the band released “Life Metal”.
