SuRie is the stage name of the English singer and songwriter Susanna Marie Cork. She was born in Harlow, Essex, England on February 18, 1989. Her stage name is a combination of her first name Susanna and her middle name Marie. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music and is classically trained on the piano and oboe. Cork started writing her own music at 12 years old and as a child performed in front of the Prince of Wales. In 2016 she released the EPs SuRie and Out of Universe. That same year she released her debut studio album titled Something Beginning With… and in 2019 released her second studio album titled Dozen. In 2018 she represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal and her song “Storm” came in 24th. She had competed once before in the contest as a backing vocalist and dancer for Loic Nottet, who represented Belgium at Eurovision 2015.
