Swin Cash is an American retired professional basketball player born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1979. She played basketball in high school at McKeesport Area High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She went on to play college basketball at the University of Connecticut from 1998 to 2002. In 2000 and 2002 she won the NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Championship with the UConn Huskies. In 2002 she was selected by the Detroit Shock, second overall, in the 2002 WNBA Draft. Cash played with the Shock from 2002 to 2007. In 2007 she started playing with the Seattle Storm until 2011. She started playing for the Chicago Sky in 2012 and was with the team until 2013. In 2014 she started playing with the Atlanta Dream but switched to the New York Liberty that same year and was with the team until 2016. In 2004 and 2012 she played with the U.S. Women’s basketball team at the Olympics and won gold both years. They also won the FIBA World Championship for Women in 2010. Cash announced on June 7, 2016, that she would retire from professional basketball at the end of the season. She was named the Director of franchise development for the New York Liberty in 2017.
