Thomas Dexter Jakes Sr., also known as T.D. Jakes was born on 9th June, 1957 in South Charleston, West Virginia, United States. He is a movie director, filmmaker, author, bishop, influental and visionary spiritual leader. Jakes is known for his work on “Jumping the Broom”, “Not Easily Broken” and “Heaven is for Real”. He is the founder and senior partner of the non-denominational church in Dallas “The Potter's House”. His YouTube channel “T.D. Jakes” was created in 2008 and it has 809K subscribers. Jakes won a Grammy Award for the Best Gospel Choir or Chorus Album, was a Black Reel Award nominee and Image Awards (NAACP) winner of the President's Award.
