Taj Mahal, who now goes by just Taj, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He currently resides in upstate New York. He is an American rapper with 11 mixtapes who won the Upstate Mixtape Award. He is also the CEO of Finally Focused Films and his own record label, Finally Focused. His First mixtape appearance was in the early 2000s on Hot 97 with DJ Green Lantern’s mixtape, New World Order. After receiving so much positive feedback on his talent he decided to put all his energy into his music releasing The Senate 1, The Senate 2 and The Senate 3, eventually leading him to drop 8 more. He’s worked with various artists like Kanye West, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Cam’ron, Jhene Aiko and Freeky Zekey. He has released hits like “My Everything,” “45th and Broadway,” “Forbidden Fruit” and his album Better than Original. In 2016 he directed and wrote a TV series called 211 Robbery in Process.
