Tamba Hali was born as Tamba Boimah Hali on November 3, 1983, in Gbanga, Liberia. He went to Pennsylvania State University when he was in college. During his senior year, he was named as the Big Ten Defensive, and he was also selected in the All-Big Ten.
He was the 20th overall pick of the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2006 NFL Draft where he was ranked as No. 3 defensive. Hali was known for his nickname The TambaHawk.
He has been a player for Kansas City Chiefs since he became a professional football player. He played in all 16 games when he was a rookie. Hali was unable to play for most of 2017 because of undisclosed injuries. The Kansas City Chiefs released him after 12 seasons on March 2018.
