Taysom Shawn Hill (born 23 August 1990) is an American football quarterback and utility player for the National Football League's New Orleans Saints (NFL). He was a member of the BYU Cougars football team in college. Despite being classified as a backup quarterback on the Saints' official depth chart, Hill has played in several offensive-skill positions as well as on both sides of the ball on special teams, including as the team's primary gunner on a punt return, and has saved his team by blocking many punts in his career. Such non-traditional use of a quarterback has earned him the recognition as one of the NFL's useful players, as well as the Saints' media moniker "The Human Swiss Army knife." In 2020, he played his first game as a starter, stepping in for an injured Drew Brees for four games and going 3-1 as a starter.
