TeaMarr, whose real name is Thamar Noel, is an American singer who combines elements of R&B, hip-hop, dance-pop, and swing. Hailing from Boston, she began her career in the music industry in 2015. In 2017, she released her self-released EP Thanks for the Chapstick, which marked her recording debut. Her single "One Job," which debuted in the opening scene of an episode of the HBO series “Insecure” in 2018, became a million-streaming success. H.E.R. then hand-picked TeaMarrr to open for her on stage. Meanwhile, “Insecure” writer/producer/actress Issa Rae launched her own music label, Raedio, in collaboration with Atlantic Records, and signed TeaMarrr as its first signee. TeaMarr's single "Kinda Love" was released by the label in October 2019, just before she made her live television debut at the 2019 Soul Train Music Awards. Before I Spill Myself, her debut album, was released in May 2020.
