Ted Cruz is a politician born on 22nd December 1970 in Alberta, Canada. He is the current senator of Texas. From 2003 to 2008, he was the Solicitor General of Texas. Cruz started his career in politics after completing his University education. Before serving as a solicitor general, he was a policy advisor in the administration of George W. Bush. In 2012, he got elected to the Senate to represent Texas State, becoming the first Hispanic-American to ever serve in that position.
In 2016, he tried his luck at the presidency but came in second after Donald Trump in the Republican primaries. He went on to support some of Trump’s policies and was involved in crafting tax reforms legislation in 2017. The following year, he ran for senate for the second time but faced stiff competition from Beto O’Rourke. He won narrowly. In 2020, he supported Trump, who lost to Biden in the general elections. He even supported Trump’s allegations of election fraud, but there was no sufficient evidence to back the allegations.
