Tessa Jane McCormick Virtue, known as Tessa Virtue, is a Canadian retired ice-skating dancer best known for competing in international figure skating competitions. She was born in London, Ontario, Canada, on May 17, 1989.
Tessa began ice skating in 1994, and in 1997 she teamed up with Scott Moir, a fellow ice-skater who she would partner with for the rest of her professional career. She went on to have a decorated career that spanned two decades, and her career highlights include a gold medal in the Ice Dancing competition at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, two silver medals in the Ice Dancing and Team events at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and right before her retirement, she won two gold medals at the Mixed Team event and Mixed Ice Dancing event, which also featured Gabriella Papadakis, Guillaume Cizeron, Maia Shibutani, and Alex Shibutani.
