Teyonah Parris Bio

Teyonah Parris is a well-known American actress, who was born on September 22nd, 1987, in Hopkins, South Carolina, United States. Her breakthrough performance took place in the role of secretary Dawn Chambers in the drama series “Mad Men,” which aired on AMC. Additionally, she also starred in the independent film “Dear White People.” Parris had starring roles in the films “Chi-Raq” and “Empire,” directed by Spike Lee; the American soap opera “Empire,” and the film “If Beale Street Could Talk,” which was nominated for an Academy Award. Parris portrayed Monica Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series “WandaVision,” in 2021. In the film titled “The Marvels,” she is set to play the role again. Moreover, Parris has been nominated for multiple awards, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the NAACP Image Awards.
