The Black Keys Bio

The Black Keys is a blues-rock duo from Akron, Ohio consisting of Dan Auerbach (guitar) and Patrick Carney (drums). They came together in 2001 and released their well-received first LP “The Big Come Up” in 2002. Their third album “Rubber Factory” (2004) would see the single “10 AM Automatic” air as a music video with a guest appearance by comedian David Cross. The band’s fifth studio album “Attack & Release” (2008) made big waves as it was produced by seasoned artist Danger Mouse and reached Billboard’s Top 15 chart. This parade to success was further solidified by the next gold sales album “Brothers” (2010), awarded with three Grammy prizes. Following “El Camino” (2011) and “Turn Blue” (2014), the band went on a hiatus until 2017, with Auerbach manning other projects, before making a comeback in 2019.
