The Blaze is a French duo of electronic dance music. The duo consists of brothers Guillaume Alric and Jonathan Alric. They started making music together when Jonathan, who studied at the Brussels Film School, asked Guillaume to work with him on the soundtrack of a music video. Their name means “name” in French slang. The duo’s distinctive method involves producing sound and visuals at the same time, creating an especially strong link between music and image. In 2017 they released their debut EP titled “Territory”. Their self-produced and self-directed music video of the song “Territory” won the Film Craft Grand Prize at the 2017 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, as well as Best Director at the Berlin Music Video Awards and Best International Dance Video MVA of the United Kingdom. Their third video “Heaven” was released in February 2018, and their touring schedule for that year included European and American festivals, including Coachella, Primavera Sound, the Roskilde Festival, Lollapalooza, Pitchfork Paris, Parklife, Lovebox and the festivals.
