The Coronas Bio

The Coronas is a rock band that was formed in Terenure, Dublin, Ireland. In 2003, Danny O’Reilly, Graham Knox, and Conor Egan, met in college and formed a band called Kiros with another friend. When the said band fell through, the three friends, along with Dave McPhillips, formed The Coronas. In 2006, they did a show at a pub in Dublin called Whelan’s that paved the way for them to be signed by 3ú Record. Soon after that, they started recording their would-be debut album entitled Heroes or Ghosts (2007). The following year, they were nominated at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards for Best Irish Pop Act. In 2009, they released their second album entitled Tony Was An Ex-Con, which quickly topped the iTunes albums chart upon its release and eventually debuted at number three on the charts the following week. The album went on to win Best Album at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards. Since then, the band has released three other albums: Closer To You in 2011, The Long Way in 2014, and Trust The Wire in 2017, which went number one on the albums chart.
