The Dandy Warhols Bio

The Dandy Warhols is an American rock band that was formed in 1994 in Portland, Oregon, United States. The founding members of the band include vocalist/guitarist Courtney Taylor, keyboardist Zia McCabe, guitarist Peter Holmström, and drummer Eric Hedford. The band signed with Tim/Kerr Records and released their debut album Dandys Rule OK? in 1995. The singles Lou Weed and Ride became sensations. Their sophomore effort Dandy Warhols Come Down appeared in 1997 and was produced by Tony Lash. The album was certified gold and three singles entered the Top 40 charts. Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth hit #31 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Their third album Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia dropped in 2000 featuring the single Bohemian Like You. The single peaked at #28 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart in the US and #5 in the UK Singles Chart in 2001. They dropped the fourth Welcome to the Monkey House in 2003 with Nile Rodgers, Nick Rhodes, and Evan Dando. The album reached #118 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and 2005’s Odditorium or Warlords of Mars peaked at #89 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
