The Deep Dark Woods are a folk band hailing from Saskatoon, Canada. They are signed to Sugar Hill Records, in the United States, and Six Shooter Records, in Canada. Drummer Lucas Goetz, bassist Chris Mason, guitarist Burke Barlow, and singer and guitarist Ryan Boldt were the original members of the band and established it in 2005. In 2009, shortly after the release of their critically acclaimed album Winter Hours, the band welcomed pianist and organist Geoff Hilhorst into their lineup. Clayton Linthicum took over playing the guitar after founding member Burke Barlow stepped down in 2012, after playing the instrument since the band's inception. In late 2014, shortly after founding member Lucas Goetz left the band, they decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. Moreover, 2017 marked the official end of Chris Mason's tenure with the organisation.
