Formed as an emo band hailing from Washington, D.C., The Dismemberment Plan is comprised of Travis Morrison, Jason Caddell, Eric Axelson, and Joe Easley. The quartet made their debut in 1994 with the song “Can We Be Mature?”, which was followed by the 1995 release of their full-length album !. They then released the album The Dismemberment Plan is Terrified in 1997, followed by the EP The Ice of Boston in 1998, Emergency & I in 1999, Change in 2001, and Uncanney Valley in 2013. Though the band announced that they were officially splitting up in 2003 and even held a sold-out farewell concert in Washington, D.C., they reunited a decade later to produce Uncanney Valley.
The album comes critically acclaimed, and peaked at #8 on the Top Heatseekers chart shortly after it debuted. They have since toured with big name bands such as Pearl Jam and Death Cab for Cutie, and embarked on a North America tour in 2014.
