The Drums is an American indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York. They were initially a duo formed by Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham, former members of the duo Elkland, before Connor Hanwick and Adam Kessler joined them. In 2008, they started performing at local venues and in 2009, they released their first EP “Summertime”. Their EP was a huge success, and several magazines like Pitchfork and Clash Magazine named them a band of interest. They became an in-demand group and they shared the stage with the likes of The Big Pink, The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club and many more. They won the Hall Radar Award in 2010 and a year later they released their second LP “Portamento”. They have appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and on MTV. In 2017, they released the album “Abysmal Thoughts”, which reached number 9 on the US Heatseekers list.
