The Head and The Heart Bio

The Head and The Heart is a folk band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2009 by vocalist Josiah Johnson, guitarist and vocalist Jonathan Russell, violinist and vocalist Charity Rose Thielen, bassist Chris Zasche, keyboardist Kenny Hensley, and drummer Tyler Williams. The band gained notoriety touring the Northwest United States region in 2010, and that same year released a self-titled album that would be re-issued and remastered by label Sub Pop in 2011. 2013’s “Let Be Still” reached the first place in their genre’s chart and also the 10th spot on Billboard’s 200. Commercial success would also be enjoyed by their following album “Signs of Light” (2013), a number 5 in Billboard’s 200. Between 2017 and 2019, they released two more LP’s and the replacement of Josiah Johnson by multi-instrumentalist Matt Gervais.
