The Hellacopters are a Swedish garage rock band, which was formed in 1994. Andersson, Andreas Tyrone "Dregen" Svennson, Kenny Hakansson, and Robert Eriksson were the original members of the band that they formed. Andersson had known Hakansson since they were both young. Andersson's primary songwriting and performing outlet, The Hellacopters, began as a side project that he and Dregen were working on together but eventually developed into its own entity and became Andersson's primary outlet. Andersson previously played drums for the death metal band Entombed, in contrast to Dregen, who was taking a break from his regular band Backyard Babies at the time. Dregen, Eriksson, and Hakansson were some of the roadies that worked for Entombed. Moreover, the band is considered to be one of the most important figures in the Swedish garage rock revival.
