The Kentucky Headhunters are an American band that play country music as well as southern rock. They got their start in 1986 in Edmonton, located in the state of Kentucky, United States of America. The majority of the members of the band had previously played together in a different band known as Itchy Brother. The band is composed of Doug Phelps on the vocals and bass guitar; Greg Martin on the vocals and lead guitar; Richard Young on the vocals and rhythm guitar; and his brother Fred Young on the vocals and drums. After the release of the band's debut album, Pickin' on Nashville, which was produced by Mercury Records in 1989, the band went on to have a string of singles that all made it into the top 40 of the country singles charts.
