The Lemonheads are a Boston, Massachusetts-based alternative rock band founded in 1986 by Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz. Dando has been the only constant member of the band. They began their career as a punk influenced independent college rock band in the late 80’s whose mass audience popularity grew in 1992 with the major label album It's a Shame about Ray. This was followed by a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson," which went on to become one of the band's most popular singles. The Lemonhead kept playing and releasing new albums until 1997, the year in which they decided to take a break. They came back reformed in 2005 and released The Lemonheads the following year. Varshons 2, the band's most recent album, was released in February 2019.
