The Living End are an Australian punk rock psychobilly band from Melbourne. The band was formed in 1994 and it consists of Chris Cheney who provided the vocals and plays the guitar, Scott Owen who plays the double bass and provides the back vocals, and Andy Strachan who plays the drums. Their debut EP titled “Hellbound” was released in 1995 followed by their first single “From Here on In”, which was released in 1996 and was included in their second EP titled “It's for Your Own Good”. The band’s breakthrough came in 1997 after the release of their third EP “Second Solution / Prisoner of Society”, which peaked at No. 4 on the ARIA Single Chart. The band toured across the U.S, Europe and native Australia. They have been nominated 27 times and won five awards at the Australian ARIA Music Awards ceremonies including among other awards Highest Selling Single for “Second Solution / Prisoner of Society” in 1998, Breakthrough Artist – Album and Best Group for “The Living End” in 1999, and many others. In 2011, their sixth studio album reached number three in the ARIA Charts and was certified gold.
