The Monkees Bio
The Monkees were an American rock band that started in 1965. The group was formed in Los Angeles, USA. The group was created for a TV series by the same name which was about a band that wanted to be as successful as The Beatles. Even though the band was meant to be fictional, they went on to create real music and even did tours in the 60’s. Their first album, The Monkees, was released in 1966 and topped the charts for 78 weeks. Their live performances were just as successful as their tv series. Some of their greatest hits were Pleasant Valley Sunday, I’m A Believer and Daydream Believer.
