The Movement Bio
The Movement is a Philadelphia-based rock, reggae, and hip-hop band originally from Columbia, South Carolina. The band is led by front man Josh Swain, who also plays guitar. Other current members include: Jackson Schmidt on bass, Gary Jackson on drums, and Ross Bugan on keys. Since their 2004 debut album, On Your Feet, The Movement has opened for all-star acts like Slightly Stoopid, The Wailers, Ludacris, Common, Wutang Clan, and 311.
Debut album, On Your Feet, launched The Movement’s success by being listed on ThePier.org’s 10 Essential Reggae Albums. This was followed up with moderately successful albums Set Sail (2008), and One More Night (2012). The Movement’s latest project, Golden, debuted in 2016 at the number one spot on Billboard’s Reggae charts.
