Hailing from Canton, Ohio, The O'Jays are an American progressive soul band with a career that spans decades. The band was unofficially formed in 1958 when the founding members met while studying at Canton McKinley High School. The makeup of The O’Jays has changed throughout the sixty years of the band’s existence, but it currently consists of Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, and Eric Grant. Their music has charted countless times, but their most famous single is Love Train which peaked at number one on the US singles charts. Their discography includes the singles Back Stabbers, Put Your Hands Together, For the Love of Money, I Love Music, and the albums Ship Ahoy, Survival, Family Reunion, and So Full of Love. Besides receiving a Black Entertainment Television Lifetime Achievement Award, The O’Jays have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame.
