The Orwells Bio

The Orwells was a Chicago-based indie-garage band formed in 2009 by Mario Cuomo (vocals), Dominic Corso (guitar), siblings Grant (bass) and Henry Brinner (drums), and Matt O'Keefe (guitar). They hit it off in the blogging scene in 2011 with a single called “Mallrats (La La La)”. After their debut album “Remember When” went out in 2012, they toured the United States and released an EP Other Voices, which featured a studio collaboration from Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio). The band went on to sign with Atlantic Records and toured North America with indie legends Arctic Monkeys. Arctic Monkeys producer Jim Abbiss worked with them for two subsequent LP’s: “Disgraceland” (2014) and “Terrible Human Beings” (2017). The band broke up in 2018.
