The Piano Guys Bio
The Piano Guys is the name of an American fusion music group formed in St. George, Utah, made of Al van der Beek, Steven Sharp Nelson, Jon Schmidt and Paul Anderson. They started their career by uploading their videos to YouTube. The band was formed as a part of a marketing plan for a piano store, called “The Piano Guys”. Anderson was trying new strategies to sell his pianos, so he began recording the pianists Steven Sharp Nelson and Jon Schmidt playing the pianos in the store. The strategy did not work and the store had to close, however, the videos began to have a lot of positive reviews by the public so they continued with the project. They proposed themselves to play in front of the 7 wonders of the world, and until 2020 they have managed to play in Petra, Chichen Itza, the Great Wall of China and in the Christ Redentor. They have also collaborated with artists such as Plácido Domingo.
