The Pigeon Detectives is an English indie rock band that was founded in 2002, and the members hail from Rothwell, in the city of Leeds. They are a five-man band that plays rough-and-ready rock and roll with a lot of swagger. Lead singer Matt Bowman, guitarists Oliver Main and Ryan Wilson, bassist Dave Best, and drummer Jimmi Naylor were all classmates who had known one another since they were 12 years old. They began receiving press attention for their performances in 2004, and released their first recorded song, "I'm Not Sorry," in 2006. The Pigeon Detectives were chosen as the opening spot on a British tour with Dirty Pretty Things because of their hit second limited-edition single, "You Know I Love You."
