The Pointer Sisters Bio
The Pointer Sisters are an American girl group, formed back in 1969, in Oakland, California. Since they first appeared in 1969, The Pointer Sisters have experimented with various genres such as rock, pop, disco, dance, jazz, and many other genres, earning major success and recognition during the 1970s and 1980s. The Pointer Sisters have been awarded three Grammy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. In December 2016, The Pointer Sisters were ranked as the 80th most successful dance artists of all time by Billboard. Over the course of their career, The Pointer Sisters have released eight studio albums, with their debut, self-titled album, being released in 1973. The group has released thirteen US Top 20 Hits between the years of 1973 and 1985.
