The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is a mixed-genre Millennial band which many reviewers find difficult to categorize, due to their versatility. They range from punk to pop, except when they’re post-hardcore or screamo. They made their big mark in 2006 with their single “Face Down,” which hit top-40 on a spread of charts and just so happened to chart #1 on Billboard’s Christian Rock charts… despite the band not having any claim to gospel appeal visible.
But why not take the fame where you can get it? The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ debut studio album “Don’t You Fake It” (2006), signed to the Virgin Records label, hit #25 on the Billboard Album 200 and sold platinum. They’ve since continued to have a fanbase in the Christian community, with six #1 charting singles on Billboard Christian. They move in mysterious ways.
