The Road Hammers is a Canadian country rock band formed in 2005 in Canada. The founding member of the band was Jason McCoy, the Canadian country star who was later joined by Chris Byrne (bassist and singer) and Clayton Bellamy (guitarist and singer).
The band released their debut self-titled album The Road Hammers in 2005 with Airstrip Music. The album topped Canadian charts with many of the singles going on to become huge hits. In the same year, the band won the band Group of the Year at the CCMA awards, an honor they received the next year at the CCMA ceremonies. The band then signed with Montage records and released their second album Blood, Sweat & Steel in 2008.
The band also won the Juno Award for Country Recording in 2006 the year before they received two CCMA awards for Duo of the Year And Best Video for Girl On the Billboard, their remake of Del Reeves #1 single from 1961. Their video hit #1 at CMT Canada.
