The Soul Rebels Bio

The Soul Rebels is an American musical ensemble that was formed in 1991 in New Orleans, Los Angeles, United States. The members of the group include Lumar LeBlanc (snare drum), Derrick Moss (bass drum, percussion), Edward Lee, Jr. (tuba), Marcus Hubbard (trumpet), Julian Gosin (trumpet), Paul Robertson (trombone), Corey Peyton (trombone), and Erion Williams (tenor saxophone).

The group released No Place Like Home: Live in New Orleans back in 2009. The group’s fame skyrocketed after they appeared in an episode of the New Orleans-themed HBO original series Treme and also in the parade before the 2010 Super Bowl. Their 2012 album Unlock Your Mind was released after the group signed to Rounder Records. The album peaked at #14 in the Jazz Albums. They also contributed to a song to the Girls Trip soundtrack and also appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series. The group also issued Poetry in Motion in October 2019. Some of the group’s most known albums include Let Your Mind Be Free (1994), More Jams From No More Parades (1999), Rebelution (2004), and Unlock Your Mind (2011).
