The Sounds are a Swedish indie rock band formed in 1999 in Helsingborg, Sweden. The band is fronted by Maja Ivarsson (vocals), and members are Jesper Anderberg (keyboards/piano/guitar), Fredrik Nilsson (drums), Johan Bengtsson (bass), and Felix Rodriguez (guitar). Their debut album Living in America, with its breakthrough singles Seven Days a Week and Rock'n`Roll, was released in 2002. The album reached number 4 on the Swedish album charts. Their second album, Dying to Say This to You, was released in 2006 and reached number 8 on the Swedish album charts.
The Sounds remained on the forefront of the music scene for many years, releasing several other albums. Their musical style has been compared to New Wave acts such as Blondie, The Cars, the Epoxies, and Missing Persons.
