The Stranglers is a punk rock band formed in 1974 in Guildford, Surrey, England. The current members of the group include Jean-Jacques Burnel (bass), Baz Warne (guitar), Jim Macaulay (drums and percussion), and Toby Hounsham (keyboards). They are associated with United Artists, A&M, Liberty, EMI, Epic, Stiff, and Castle Communications record labels.
The band released their debut album, Rattus Norvegicus, in April 1977. It entered the British Top Ten with hit singles like Peaches and (Get A) Grip (On Yourself). They released their sophomore album, No More Heroes, in September of the same year. It peaked at number two on the UK album charts.
The band founded the Psycho Records label, where they released their 1992 album Stranglers in the Night. They have 23 UK top 40 singles and 19 UK top 40 albums. Their discography includes Dark Matters, Feel It Live, Acoustic in Brugge, SuiteXVI (XVI Anniversary Remaster), and Sweet Smell Of Success - The Best Of The Epic Years.
