The Subways are a British alternative rock band that originated from Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom. Their debut album, “Young for Eternity”, was released on July 4, 2005, in the UK. The band is composed of Billy Lunn (guitar and vocals), Charlotte Cooper (bass and singer), and Josh Morgan (drums). The Subways started out as a group at a very young age, playing punk rock songs at Brothers Billy and Josh's bar and covering Nirvana under the name Mustardseed. Later, they changed their name to Platypus, as a song by the punk rock group Green Day. As his reputation grew, Billy began to dislike all the names of the band. He ended up deciding on “The Subways”, supposedly because “The Subway” was one of the places where he felt and took refuge and peace.
