The Verve Pipe Bio

The Verve Pipe is an American rock band that was formed in 1992. The band was formed by frontman Brian Vander Ark, bassist Brad Vander Ark, drummer Donny Brown, and guitarist Brian Stout. They released their debut album in 1992, which was titled “I’ve Suffered a Head Injury”. The following year, Stout was replaced by A.J. Dunning, and they released a second album, titled “Pop Smear”. It was in 1995 that they signed to RCA Records, and released their label debut, “Villains”, in 1996. Later, keyboardist Doug Corella joined the band. In 1997, they decided to re-record a version of a song that was on their debut album, and “The Freshmen” was released as a single that became a number one modern rock hit. In 1999, the band released a self-titled album, and it was followed in 2001 by “Underneath”. Those albums didn’t spawn any hits, so they took an 8-year break. In 2009, they released an album titled “A Family Album”, which was later followed by “Are We There Yet?” four years later. In 2014, they released “Overboard”.
