The Wedding Present Bio
The Wedding Present is an English indie rock band that was founded in 1984, in Leeds, United Kingdom. They emerged from The Lost Pandas' ashes, as after Gedge and Keith Gregory's band, The Lost Pandas, disbanded in 1984, they changed the name to The Wedding Present. Over time, they have diversified their musical style. David Gedge, the band's only steadfast member and lead vocalist and guitarist, has served as the group's leader. Numerous businesses were interested in the band around the time of their debut, but they chose to continue putting their music out on their own. In 1987, their first album was made available. The band experienced numerous hiatuses until resurfacing in 2013 with a new lineup. Moreover, their most recent performance was a concert titled "Locked Down and Stripped Back" that took place in early 2021.
