Thomas Ellis Gibson is an American actor, director, and writer best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, on July 3, 1962. He began his acting career at nine when he would appear in numerous theatrical productions in the children’s theatre. Thomas made the switch to onscreen acting in the late 1980s when he when he appeared in episodes of the TV series Guiding Light, Leg Work, and Lincoln. He has since been a regular on the TV series Dharma & Greg, As the World Turns, Tales of the City, Chicago Hope, He is best known for starring in the drama series Criminal Minds alongside Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook, Joe Mantegna, and Shemar Moore. His filmography includes the titles Far and Away, Eyes Wide Shut, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, and Barcelona. Thomas received two Golden Globes nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical.
