Thomas L. Friedman is a famous novelist who was born on July 20th, 1953, in Minnesota, USA. Thomas developed an interest in the Middle East after travelling to Israel for Christmas in 1968. In high school, he discovered his passion for reporting and journalism. Thanks to a scholarship from the British government, he graduated from Brandeis University with a bachelor's degree in 1975. He continued on to Oxford to complete an M. Phil. in modern Middle East studies, and began his professional career with UPI in 1978. Eventually, he was hired by the New York Times in 1981. A few of his NY Times bestsellers include “From Beirut to Jerusalem,” “The Lexus and the Olive Tree,” “Longitudes and Attitudes,” “The World Is Flat, Hot, and Crowded,” “That Used To Be Us,” and “Thank You For Being Late.”
